MY VIDEOS

Plushie 1

This plushie project was my first experience of shooting footage, editing it, and posting it on an online website. This project gave me some experience in shooting footage with a camera other than an iPhone, then transferring it to a computer and editing it.  I familiarized myself with the editing software: Final Cut Pro. I started out with choosing a plushie: Frosty the Snowman. I then formulated a basic plot in my mind. Since Frosty is a snowman, I filmed scenes of him in cool places such as air conditioners. I filmed scenes of him looking outside, as if he was longing to be outside. I then filmed scenes of him outside, capturing him in different places. When I was done filming, I brought the camera back inside  and edited the footage on Final Cut Pro, familiarizing myself with that program. While my first project wasn't a cinematic masterpiece, I got a good understanding of some of the essentials in cinematography: filming, editing, and posting.

Plushie 2

This plushie project was my second experience of shooting footage, editing it, and posting it on an online website. It went much smoother this time, since I was familiarized with the cameras, the editing software, Final Cut Pro, and the process of adding sound and putting it onto my website. This was my first time creating a storyboard, as seen above. Creating a story board made the process easier because I had a better image in my mind of how I was going to shape my video. I started to formulate a plot in my mind as soon as I grabbed the plushie; a retired baseball player, whose career was ended by an injury, he hated his life for a while but found peace. I was already better off than when I did my first plushie because I had a storyline in my mind. My skills with a camera have improved, but it is clear that I still have room for improvement. After I finished filming and began editing, I also helped Noah Coppola film his plushie film. I helped him position his plushie in the tree while he worked the camera. I also threw the plushie places while Noah filmed. The second plushie film went much smoother than the first, and I'm excited to learn more about the filmmaking process.
